Welcome to the SCIF
A Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF; pronounced "skiff") is an enclosed area that is used to process and discuss Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) levels of classified information. SCIFs can be large or small. They can be portable or be an entire building. Senior government officials often have SCIFs installed in their private residences so SCI can be discussed when they are away from their government office. I all cases, SCIFs are "hardened" and secured against surveillance and electronic eavesdropping.
For our purposes here at Cole on Security, LLC, our SCIF is an informal gathering place for breaking news, current events and educational content of interest to protection professionals. Looking for breaking intel on terrorism, security management, investigations, or high-risk security operations? Look no further, you'll find it in the SCIF.
